Thanks to my good friend Gil Namur, who runs blogs Synaptic I and Synaptic Studios for giving me the idea to use the Mandigo theme. I haven’t tailored mine as much as he has, but maybe I’ll get to that later on. I appreciate the 1024 width, and the two columns. Another theme I really like is iNove, by mq12.

    Hi Duncan,

Thanks for the plug! I have found the Mandigo theme to be a nice balance between usability (ease) and flexibility.
As you are a talented coder, you may want to check this theme as well. It is very versatile.

Build your own unique, professional and browser-safe WordPress theme: Over 200 theme options, drop down menus for pages and categories, fluid or fixed width layout, 1, 2 or 3 columns, rotating header images, auto image resizing, integrated Feedburner form, 4 extra widgets and more. WP 2.2-2.7 and WPMU. English plus DE, HU, PT, CZ, SI, TR, FR, PL, NL, BG, IT, VN, JP, ES.

I have toyed with using it but it would require more noodling which would probably get my focus off of writing articles .. I do LOVE to noodle!

Have a great weekend and thanks again for mentioning my sites!

    Cheers,

    Hi Gil,

I looked briefly at Atahualpa, but didn’t go any further. I’ll give it a whirl. Thanks!

    Hello Duncan,

I came accross your site, don’t ask me how, I don’t remember ;o)
Anyway, I have a question for you. I’m not very good at php programming and I’m desperately looking for someone who could give me tips on how to adapt the Mandigo theme in order to integrate a dropdown menu into the header. Just like you did for “About” -> “Kevins Dream Car”. This is exactly what I need but I have no clue how to do it.

If you could give a little help, I would VERY much appreciate it.

In advance, thanks for your help,

    Cheers,

    Ed

    Hi Ed,

The navigation menu is just part of the theme. Go to Theme options and you’ll see it there. To create menu options you have to create pages from the WordPress Admin page. When you create a page it lets you choose where in the menu structure it belongs.
